MU Virginia told Mulain about a great product she's been using on her shoot this week. Know we've blogged about this little baby before but it's seriously good! Benefit's Talk to the Tan! Great for giving the face an instant sun-kissed colour and glow. Easy to apply and easy to blend in...what more do we need? MU Virginia has been giving her actor a slight traveller's tan...mixed in with posh sweat...Elizabeth Arden's 8 Hour Cream....goes so well together and looks so natural and realistic. Invisible tanning with an invisible glow! If you know what I mean...:).

Batch 7 of pro course are starting their bridal classes today. Wedding belles will be created in class. Mulain can't wait to see the pix.

Estee Lauder's Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Beauty company Estee Lauder are running their 19th year of Breast Cancer Awareness month...headed by Liz Hurley...Brands like Clinque, Jo Malone, Aveda and Estee Lauder of course are offering special beauty buys where you get a special pink ribbon purchase plus you are supporting a good, with a percentage of the purchase going to the scheme. MU Virginia is currently on a shoot in Jaipur with a foreign crew who have come to India to shoot a TVC. They are wanting to capture the colour and vibrancy of our wonderful nation and so she is prepping for EVERYTHING for this mini-film...from street performers to dancers to gods to goddesses to stone people to sadhus to wedding guests and the list goes on!!! Mulain just could not imagine creating all of the above without our make-up palettes! If you don't have palettes you just cannot work to your maximum ability. It's as simple as that. Don't have any? Armed with a good grease palette?

Mulain is totally in love with this Make-up Forever Grease palette. We have always said having a grease palette is an essential item for your kit..so make sure you do have one. This one is just beautiful! Great brand! Lovely lovely lovely. One of the MU-ettes (you know who you are) has one in class on the pro course and Mulain just can't stop staring at it...Wunderbar! Catwalk class today....so will most definitely be using this one...and lots of colour and sparkle and shimmers and pigments...LOVE IT!

People! Scared of age-ing???? Don't be!! What's so bad about it eh? It really is fantastic...so much world experience, so much maturity and so many different lives lived! Celebrate yourself as you get older, celebrate your elders...it's cool....don't be age-ist....you're giving yourself a very short shelf life if you do...we get BETTER with age. Not worse!

MU-vie time!

It's Mulain's favourite time of year! Film festival time where we get to see the best of the year's films / MU-vies and we start the run up to THE OSCARS.....woo hoo! So get the ball rolling with the MU-mbai Film Fest 2011 - 13 October to 20 October. Film to look out for (there are lots) THE ARTIST - different, great performances, like a silent-film....can't wait to see it. And then of course there's the Goa Film Fest...get excited and enthu and go see MU-vies...any you would like to tell Aunty Mulain about?

Ok we know Madame Dietrich knew a lot of about contouring and highlighting and had so many tricks to enhance her face with make-up and lighting etc. Well the super talented Mr. Tom Ford has come out with some fabulous little tools and products to help us achieve Marlene perfection....MAKE-UP TACTICS are as follows...make sure you try out the BROW SCULPTOR - it's a pencil with a unique calligraphy style tip so you can achieve thin or wide brows...good control and creative choice for all of us. Then there's the Tom Ford SHADE AND ILLUMINATE excellent for the end of the year contouring trend. It's a duo of 2 creams - light and dark and comes in 2 intensities....don't be scared by the look of it, easy to blend til you have cheekbones that are chiselled from the gods! Ever heard that old chestnut? Of course you have! Understand it? No?.....Well it means... know your stuff! Know your trade! Know your talent! Invest in your learning and education and mind. Read, study, explore, earn your stripes, see the world, listen to others' opinions, disagree, argue, banter, debate, stretch your mind, open your eyes, be an apprentice, lose your ego, respect all, watch, listen, ask. What you put in, you'll get out, 100 per cent guaranteed! Not getting it?...read 'Outliers' by Malcolm Gladwell....he breaks down the myth of genius and makes it accessible to all...basically put in the HARD WORK and then you'll reap the rewards! Know your subject!!! Then you can start to break the rules, get creative, change the world! Education is key and that includes in MAKE-UP! And here the lesson endeth...:).

Ok it's Friday!....When you get home tonight, however tired you are my darlings, shut the door, pour yourself a glass of something loo-ver-ly, crank up the volume of Maroon 5's (feat. Christina A) new song "Moves Like Jagger" and play DRESS UP! What a song! MU-Tube it and check out the MU-ves they've got going on. Super cool....also check out Christina's eye make-up...lovely lashes - 60s eyes! Mulain was chatting with a friend of fat mu yesterday (Shivani you know who you are :) )....and we were chatting about the ruts we all get stuck in...and we were saying that when you're young and you used to dress up in your bedroom and dance in front of the mirror so MU-ch fun was had! Remember people?....well chalo....let's do it again....such good therapy for the soul, make yourself feel great!...So crank it up, get some new lippie on, layers of mascara, get yourself a mike (can of hairspray good)!!!! and MU-ve like Jagger.

Has our Katie P made braces cool? First there was Ugly Betty? Lil Wayne, Tom Cruise, then MU Virginia ;) now Katie Perry seen sporting braces...this however looks a bit spoof like but it's fun. Anyone else out there a brace face? :)....M x

Mazazines in MU-mbai!

MU-tip for the day....make sure you make friends with your magazine-wallah! He'll make sure you get all the print you need for yourself and work! So important to visually collect references, beautiful and interesting ones at that...better to have one FANTASTIC image then 10 mediocre ones. If you're in Bandra W try Ashok 9820443800 (outside Lemongrass, near Gloria Jean's)...he is so accomodating, get's you your Italian Vogue or anything you want and always has a smile on his face.

No excuses...get collecting and be an intelligent, imaginative artist!
