Mulain was checking out all the trends for next year and came across Hiphop singer Nicki Minaj's hair. Absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this look....dip and dye your hair...just how cool and different....what fun! Wonder what Gaga makes of this.....such fun and so colourful and edgy. What's great is that you can pick a colour and look to match your personality. Pink and playful, blue and cool, rainbow and fun...Mulain wants to try! Look out Bombay here I come!

MUs Virg and Nat were watching Taylor Swift perform at a recent music industry award function and in between OMG-ing with Usher and toe-tappin' with Katy Perry and lil Justin B
they could n't help noticing just how good she looked. She usually goes for a very feminine, girly, soft look ....this night she went for old Hollywood glam..from hair to nails to lips to eyes! Just fantastic and shows how versatile she is...and what a great style team she has! Recently Mulain has noticed Mademoiselle Swift wearing flicks on the eyes and a red, statement mouth, instantly giving her a more adult, glamourous look and appeal. Love it!

Dior's Cruise look for 2011

John Galliano at his best.....

Mulain saw images from the Dior Cruise show in Shanghai yesterday and so wished he was there to help create those flicks and pops of lip colours...lovely! John Galliano's show for Dior saw him bring the streets of 1960s Paris to the current 'it' city of Shanghai!!! 60s hair and eye flicks teamed with bright, poppy colours from the 80s....bringing the look into 2011 courtesy from our fat mu MUse Pat Mcgrath. She wanted to capture the energy from the Parisienne streets of the time adding a contemporary twist...she again not only succeeded but wowed us all as usual.

Neon!

Mulain was reading about the Mui Mui 'Neon' inspired make-up designs at the 2011 shows for S/S...instead of just seeing what the artist had done....thought it would be a good idea to get my own feel of 'Neon' before seeing what someone else had done......so wanted to see it, feel it, touch it....attached some images for inspiration for you too, you might find it in a tube light, a shoe, a bead, a painting.....what do we always teach in class?...COLOURs / TEXTUREs / SHAPEs....look around you and see what is Neon for you.....Enjoy M x

Mulain loves Katy Perry's video featuring Snoop Dog....it's SO girly, cotton candy-like, retro, glossy and just de-li-cious...a visual delight...plus you've got pink Afro wigs, retro 50s and 60s inspired make-ups with a futuristic twist. Production design might as well be Mulain heaven..super cool. Trending - Spring / Summer 2011

Glitter is back!..... and so is colour! woo hoo!! Trending at London Fashion Week , glitter a la the Seventies saw a comeback on the catwalks .

Starting with nails either wholly dipped for full on sparkle or just delicately tipped for a slight edge.... glitter edges its way up onto the face to compliment smokey eyes with a touch of bright sparkle on the inner corners or for a full on wow factor on the entire eye! Take it all the way up to the brow, use just as an eyeline, or combine with a rocker edge on the lower lash line.... whatever takes your fancy.... have fun with it....!!

Also back in for next season is COLOUR!! lots of it from bright citrus-y sorbet colours to yummy pretty pastels..... think Spring flowers and Summer fruits.... all sorts .... lots of colour on the cheeks, eyes, lips, nails.... a nice refreshing change from the bleak starkness of the winter trends....

Mulain is looking forward to the Autumn / Winter make-up looks coming out.....particularly the dark gothic glamour lips and the graphic eye! Wow.....get your eyepencils, crayons, cremes, gels on stand-by to create some simply marvellous shapes and intensity points. Got a favourite? Mulain would love to know....we love Benefit's Bad Gal big chunky pencil and MAC's black-track liner in a pot.
