MU-ves like Jagger!

Ok it's Friday!....When you get home tonight, however tired you are my darlings, shut the door, pour yourself a glass of something loo-ver-ly, crank up the volume of Maroon 5's (feat. Christina A) new song "Moves Like Jagger" and play DRESS UP! What a song! MU-Tube it and check out the MU-ves they've got going on. Super cool....also check out Christina's eye make-up...lovely lashes - 60s eyes! Mulain was chatting with a friend of fat mu yesterday (Shivani you know who you are :) )....and we were chatting about the ruts we all get stuck in...and we were saying that when you're young and you used to dress up in your bedroom and dance in front of the mirror so MU-ch fun was had! Remember people?....well chalo....let's do it again....such good therapy for the soul, make yourself feel great!...So crank it up, get some new lippie on, layers of mascara, get yourself a mike (can of hairspray good)!!!! and MU-ve like Jagger.

Has our Katie P made braces cool? First there was Ugly Betty? Lil Wayne, Tom Cruise, then MU Virginia ;) now Katie Perry seen sporting braces...this however looks a bit spoof like but it's fun. Anyone else out there a brace face? :)....M x

Mazazines in MU-mbai!

MU-tip for the day....make sure you make friends with your magazine-wallah! He'll make sure you get all the print you need for yourself and work! So important to visually collect references, beautiful and interesting ones at that...better to have one FANTASTIC image then 10 mediocre ones. If you're in Bandra W try Ashok 9820443800 (outside Lemongrass, near Gloria Jean's)...he is so accomodating, get's you your Italian Vogue or anything you want and always has a smile on his face.

No excuses...get collecting and be an intelligent, imaginative artist!

Pammie pushes for ban!

So we know the infamous Pamela Anderson is an ardent PETA supporter and activist. Above she has lent her body to promote being a Veggie and on top of that she has written personally to John Dolli the European Commissioner for Health and Consumer Policy to not delay the ban on testing on animals. Once the ban goes through it means companies in the EU will not be able to test on anything live...including make-up companies!? So...where will this leave all of us?....If they don't test all the chemicals and ingredients in make-up on the small and cute furry things then who will they test on? Poor people? Ummm ...Mulain wonders what the big Multi-nationals are planning? Maybe they'll be forced to look at natural, organic ways of producing make-up that's good for us...and does n't contain all the nasty parabens and other stuff etc...."beauty is pain" is something Mulain often hears ...so questioning it today...does it have to be like that?

So good for you Pammie..trying to make the world a better place.

Reinvention!

MU Virginia Reinvention or quarter-life crisis?

Mulain was with MU Virginia on Saturday watching her get her hair coloured and cut. She briefed the stylist....'something fun, something different, bit of reinvention...want a Spring in my step after such a wet Monsoon'. So black and white followed - blonde platinium fringe and dark, dark brown surrounding it. MU Virginia was thinking quarter-life crisis? Or a bit of MU-ch needed REINVENTION?...Mulain and MU Virginia decided definitely REINVENTION. We all get stuck in ruts - mentally and physically and all of us need a bit of a shake up to get us back on track in life and feeling fantastic. Makeovers are an essential part of feeling good! It's creative and holistic too. Not sure what a fat mu makeover entails...call Rosy on 9920753846. We all need a bit of TLC in make-up world. Tres importante.

So now MU Virginia has a new blonde fringe - she 'll have to adjust her make-up and clothes too...good fun!!!

Mr. Dutt in his new MU-vie Agneepath

Mulain is delighted for debut director Karan Malhotra, his first film releases soon and looks refreshingly different and slick. MU Virginia worked with Karan on Excel Entertainment's Lakshye years ago and is really excited for him and wishes him oodles of success. Mulain actually saw the trailer and liked the look of the 'villain'. Sanjay Dutt look is different and 'in character'. So for all make-up artistes go see when it's released and see what you think of the look...does it work? Other MU-vies you guys should check out if you have n't - BOL and THAT GIRL IN YELLOW BOOTS. Both off the mainstream Bollywood track and aesthetically different. So let us know your thoughts and what you think! Mumbai film fest coming up soon....is it that time already? Mon dieu!

A True Classic!

MU Natasha saw this little Laura Mercier gem in London 2 weeks ago and told Mulain what an amazing buy. A Smokey eye kit that not only looks lovely and 'classique' but it's amazingly workable too! Good eyeshadows, correct tools to create the smokey eye and an instruction kit. Great for your personal make-up or a gift for someone special. It's a timeless classic that will not date...so it's ok to splurge...not cheap but worth it. It's total quality...mind you anything Madame Mercier does is.

MU-dare - Lips Noir!

One of Mulain's favourite people (see above) left the Blogger's Workshop last Friday sporting black lips! We were perfecting everyone's signature style and Missy Anuskha is totally a lipstick girl..so we pushed her creatively by making her wear dark lipstick, so she was out of her comfort zone. Mulain and MU Virginia pushed her SOOOO much she dared to try black - 'Lip Noir'....wow! It looked fantastic and totally worked with her look and attitude. Why we love her? Easy...she strode / strutted from the fat mu academy and marched out onto Hill Road (in the daytime) proudly displaying her new look. Mulain applauds your style and cou-rage Mademoiselle! You looked great and carried it off superbly. So people...MU-dare for today...how far can you push those pouts!!! Chalo!

Color Bar Lip Pots!

Mulain spotted these little pots in MU Sunita's make-up kit...nice colour range and good intensity, smell yum and are comfy on the lips...no point having an uncomfortable pout my darlings eh?...The Coral shade is really fresh and loo-verly - lovely on Indian skins...but go to New Beauty Centre and check them out for yourselves....approx Rs. 300....not bad eh?

MU-product of the day - YSL creme blushes!

Mulain totally loves these fab little colourful creme boxes of delight! Last year YSL introduced 3 of these to the market....and now they've brought in the bright pink and red! Wonderful. Mulain is totally loving the Fushia pink..serious Wow! factor...Mulain says head to Shoppers Stop and go to the YSL counter...test these out to see which one YOU like....not cheap but super lux and lovely...last a long time and easy to apply with longlasting power.

Today it's Michael Jackson's birthday. Mulain and MU Virginia are celebrating today and only listening to MJ. He was simply the best and we especially love THRILLER. Not only a great song, the biggest selling album of all time, transforming the ways Music Videos were seen and done and of course THE MAKE-UP! MU Virginia saw Michael Jackson's Thriller back in 1983 and wanted to be a make-up artist. Never seen the 'Making of Thriller' video?....ALL make-up artists should watch. Fan-frickin-tastic! Prosthetics in action and all the behind secrets and ways they transformed MJ into a werewolf and zombie.

Interested in SFX...well fat mu academy will be running some Special Effects classes / workshops in October. Let us know if you are interested.
