Mulain totally loves these fab little colourful creme boxes of delight! Last year YSL introduced 3 of these to the market....and now they've brought in the bright pink and red! Wonderful. Today it's Michael Jackson's birthday. Mulain and MU Virginia are celebrating today and only listening to MJ. He was simply the best and we especially love THRILLER. Not only a great song, the biggest selling album of all time, transforming the ways Music Videos were seen and done and of course THE MAKE-UP! MU Virginia saw Michael Jackson's Thriller back in 1983 and wanted to be a make-up artist. Never seen the 'Making of Thriller' video?....ALL make-up artists should watch. Fan-frickin-tastic! Prosthetics in action and all the behind secrets and ways they transformed MJ into a werewolf and zombie.

Well girls and boys...Mulain had super fun last night watching the team in action at the Raffles Design Institute Student Fashion Show. The MUs and MU-ettes were back stage creating their look / design on 24 models. Tricky brief...one look to suit lots of different clothing collections from Traditional Indian to Modern Punk to Brazilian to Disco and more. Plus had to be different to last year's Retro design we did. The team came up with a super duper rocking design which everyone loved...silver glitter down one side of the face, a clean sculpted canvas and a popping, glossy pink pout! Gorgeous and so effective! Don't forget nails too...silver metallic polish on hands and toes!

Mulain was listening to one of his favourite director's poems / songs the other day and thought of all of you. Baz Luhrmann's 'Sunscreen'! Ever listened to it?..go YouTube it...it's fab! On how to live life....one of the lines resonates with all us MU's..."Don't read beauty magazines they'll only make you feel ugly!"......is this true my friends? I really want to know? Does the beauty industry help us or subliminally kill our self-esteems? Ummm ..interesting question that Mulain will be thinking about all weekend!

MUs Virginia and Rosy are off to the Raffles Institute Graduation Fashion Show - where all the MU-ettes are designing the make-up! Lots of MUUU-ing backstage.

MU Sara was heading to Lakme fashion week the other day and as she was walking out of fat mu hq to leave, MU Virginia stopped her and quickly added a painted on beauty spot to complete her look. Sound weird? Well Mulain can assure you it was the cherry on the cake! It just quietly popped the look. Wanna try but bit scared?...Chalo start small and delicate on an evening out. There are different ways to apply it...you could sharpen a black or dark brown eye liner pencil and draw one on (depending on your colouring and look you want). Or you could take the end of an eye liner brush and dip it in a gel liner pot and then pop it on the required area? Inglot / Bobbi Brown / MAC options have good options. For placement...by the eye or mouth are popular. Remember start small and have a little practice at home. Mulain promises you that once you get it right, you'll have this invisible, sexy, tantalizing allure...MUUU!

Mulain has been hearing the buzz about Maybelline's Colossal Kajal and so wanted to try it out. The MUs are all fans of Maybelline anyway - what mascaras man!...Oh la la la. Affordable and effective! You'll be pleased to know that the Kajal is also a winner! Woo hoo....Mulain has a spring in his step...so happy to find another fab product to add to our fat mu 'MU-st haves'. Theatre director Karla Singh sent through some lovely behind-the-scenes working shots from her theatre production of 'The King and I' which happened last Friday. All make-up was done by the MU-ettes - well done all of you! Mulain is so, so proud and hope you had fun, fun, fun doing it...;).

My darlings...why not today show our solidarity with super nice guy and fabulous humanitarian Anna Hazare....today thousands of Dabbawalas will strike for the 1st time in 120 years and many people heading to the Azad Maiden today. Woo Hoo India....anti-corruption is on! Can't get there or little to shy to join the madding crowds...why not use make-up for sending out a message of support and paint a flag on your face! C'mon fellow make-up artistes....join the revolution! Go Anna go!

MU-product of the day!

Yet again Mulain highly recommends 'Eight Hour Cream' by Elizabeth Arden. Know we keep saying you MU-st have it in your kit...but here I go again...YOU MU-ST HAVE IT IN YOUR KIT! Mulain was with MUs Virginia and Xavier yesterday shooting with GQ's FYI and both the models they worked on were both so dehydrated and lips a mess...plus working in air-con just wreaks havoc with skin generally but lips too! 'Eight Hour Cream' to the rescue my darlings....smothered their lips while prepping the skin et voila...perfecto lips about 20 mins later....plus also used it on their eyes to create a very sexy, wet look. Me-ow! No excuse for not getting it...get yourselves to Shopper's Stop asap! Don't miss on this one! We will keep telling you ....so you might as well listen na?

Ok Mulain has been watching all the MUs prep today for various projects happening...from Body Art to Burlesque themes to Bronzed Babes to workshops and fashion shows. Mulain wants to know how you prep and research for your shoots / bridals /events / whatever!!?? Mulain hopes you are not just a 'Google Page 1' artist...that means you go on http://www.google.com/ and write in "........" and use the first thing that comes up!!?? If you do my darlings, shame on you!...You have, have, have x 1000000000 to be more than that. You must be different, research in different, interesting and effective ways...see above for some inspiration! Struggling to know what I mean...then you need to come chat with Mulain Auntie and we'll show you the way!

The MUs have been painting, sketching, reading, drawing, trying out products, discussing different textures, colours, shapes...you MU-st be different and innovative and interesting, adding wit and intelligence and your craft in the right way. And fantastic of course.....so go knock 'em dead and make-up the world!! You have the power!

Make-up for a good cause!

X-factor stars 'Jedward' made-up to be victims of bullying....

Mulain came across these 2 pop cuties 'Jedward' with bruises and scratches on their loo-verly faces and wondered what was going on? Well appears these 2 are the faces of an anti-bullying campaign for ISPCC (Irish Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Children) alongside X-factor judge Louis Walsh and Westlife's Mark Feehily. Both want to push these hard-hitting ad campaigns to create awareness for anti-bullying. Mulain thinks it's a great idea ....make-up for a good cause! What do you guys think? Convincing make-ups? Do any of you use your art for a good cause?
