As Mulain was shopping yesterday with MUs Nat and Virg at the YSL counter he noticed the delightful colour combos of their couture manicure sets....fabulous and sexy and different. YSL is such a luxury brand and the texture and consistency of their products is truly amazing! Worth every single penny, rupee, cent...truly! So go get inspired at their counter or on-line and maybe make-up your own combos.

MU-AH!!! Happy Diwali my darlings and hope you are all celebrating and relaxing / partying / being with family etc etc. I tagged along with fellow MUs Virg and Nat to help them pick out their new lipsticks. Intent on Chanel we all forgot that Shopper's Stop at Juhu no longer has Chanel under it's roof....cho chad!! Disappointed for a mili-second we then spied YSL and jumped straight in to trying on bright and bold statement lips. Virg has never been a lipstick wearer and never owned a red lipstick. Mulain was truly aghast...so made her try it on and insist she buy it. Classic and cool, never out of fashion and oh what a pick-me-up! Natasha has not been wearing lippie for a while (but usually a lipstick girl) tried a poppy, sexy pink...Wow! Looked amazing and so current and cool. So the girls left happy and pouting and posing...Mulain is telling you girls (and boys ;) ) ...go treat yourself! Lipsticks armed and ready for action...certainly puts a spring in your step. Age-less style and sophistication! Totally ready for the front lines!

Go take a look at Kate Shillingford's special day! Lavender hair and a statement mouth with a unique dress and veil which I am sure will be talked about for years to come. Etched in memories. Now all brides are beautiful right? How many are original? Getting married this year? Next year? Congratulations Batch 7!

Today Mulain is congratulating all the MU-ettes from Batch 7 who passed out today! MU-ah! We love ya all and wish you all the best for the future!!! The school is super quiet without you all! We MU-st have a party soooon for all MU-ettes....yay!

Mulain has told MUs Virg and Nat that he is treating them to a new lipstick for Diwali...how cool eh? So...we are going to Chanel and picking a new shade for each of us....getting a signature lipstick is such an accessory for any lady...any age! Such a statement and makes you feel armed and ready to go! Wherever you are. So will let you know which ones we pick.

Today was character class and intro to sfx. Batch 7 MU-ettes rocked totally...:). MU Virginia was delighted with the class today....everyone worked hard, listened to the brief and really tried their best in their artistry! Woo hoo! We all created The 3 Musketeers today....beards, moustaches, stubble, sweat, dirt, scars, broken down skin...such fun....ALL DID WELL! Have n't seen the latest version of it....check it out now at your nearest MU-vie hall...

GOLD LEAF FASHION!

Mulain LOVES LOVES LOVES the gold-leaf eyeshadow look for Fendi S/S 2o12! The MUs have always loved working with gold leaf and so glad to see it up on the ramps for next year. If you're in MU-mbai head to any artshop to pick some up or Hobby Craft at Kemp's Corner, any art shop should sell gold leaf (and bronze and silver too)...apply with vaseline or Pro-saide for more of a hold - always remember to have remover for this though...Pro Clean is good. Careful around the eyes with this...try the gold leafing on other parts of the face or body? Experiment and have fun my dears!

MU Virginia has just wrapped from her shoot in Jaipur and gave me a super product tip which saved her on her shoot. Ben Nye to the rescue again! What a brand....super dependable and wonderful selection of products, Mulain says go check out all their stacks of make-up from character to sfx to glamour...great for quick fixes on set and also for packing...stacks rock!! So MU Virginia had to do a lastminute.com age-ing on set last night and luckily had packed fat mu's FX Age-ing stack in her set bag. This stack has 5 different colours for different effects from freckles to liverspots to veins to undereyes and capillaries! So easy to manage and use under shooting pressure and gives a great look and finish. MUs Virg and Xavi back to Bombay tonight and I'm dying to catch up with them and find out what it was like working with one of the top Ad film directors in the world! Watch this space!

Hair Graffiti at Betsey Johnson

Who would have thought eh?.... We love the turn fashion is taking... and we salute Madame Johnson for bringing us yet another innovative design feature, this time on the hair.

Fun and temporary it is something Mulain just loo-ves ..... so why not have some fun and make some heads turn?... All you need are a few stencils for variety and temporary spray on hair colour that washes out et voila!

We MU's are on it!!...... watch this space!...

Quick tan!

MU Virginia told Mulain about a great product she's been using on her shoot this week. Know we've blogged about this little baby before but it's seriously good! Benefit's Talk to the Tan! Great for giving the face an instant sun-kissed colour and glow. Easy to apply and easy to blend in...what more do we need? MU Virginia has been giving her actor a slight traveller's tan...mixed in with posh sweat...Elizabeth Arden's 8 Hour Cream....goes so well together and looks so natural and realistic. Invisible tanning with an invisible glow! If you know what I mean...:).

Batch 7 of pro course are starting their bridal classes today. Wedding belles will be created in class. Mulain can't wait to see the pix.

MU Virginia is currently on a shoot in Jaipur with a foreign crew who have come to India to shoot a TVC. They are wanting to capture the colour and vibrancy of our wonderful nation and so she is prepping for EVERYTHING for this mini-film...from street performers to dancers to gods to goddesses to stone people to sadhus to wedding guests and the list goes on!!! Mulain just could not imagine creating all of the above without our make-up palettes! If you don't have palettes you just cannot work to your maximum ability. It's as simple as that. Don't have any? Get yourself to the Ben Nye counters, Kryolan, Make-up Forever, Ingot, MAC and get a selection. Most important ones (not including base ones)...

Armed with a good grease palette?

Mulain is totally in love with this Make-up Forever Grease palette. We have always said having a grease palette is an essential item for your kit..so make sure you do have one. This one is just beautiful! Great brand! Lovely lovely lovely. One of the MU-ettes (you know who you are) has one in class on the pro course and Mulain just can't stop staring at it...Wunderbar! Catwalk class today....so will most definitely be using this one...and lots of colour and sparkle and shimmers and pigments...LOVE IT!

The Beauty of Age-ing!

People! Scared of age-ing???? Don't be!! What's so bad about it eh? It really is fantastic...so much world experience, so much maturity and so many different lives lived! Celebrate yourself as you get older, celebrate your elders...it's cool....don't be age-ist....you're giving yourself a very short shelf life if you do...we get BETTER with age. Not worse!
